X-Cel provides a core program of competitive short course swimming from September to March, and long course swimming from April to the end of July.

Level 1 swimmers practice four days a week on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Swimmers in Level 2 and Level 3 practice five days a week, and swimmers in Level 4 and Level 5 practice six days a week.

Here are core program level descriptions:

Level 5

This is the highest level. Swimmers are training 6 days/week, and one double practice per week. The minimum age is 13, i.e. swimmers in this level are 13 and over. The goal for this level is to compete at Nationals, Sectionals, and Junior Olympics. Swimmers are required to swim 8*100 free at 1:15 intervals and have achieved 13/over Junior Olympics time cuts.

Level 4

Swimmers in this level are training 6 days/week. The minimum age is 12. The goal for this level is to compete at Zones, Junior Olympics, and Silver Championships. Swimmers are required to swim 10*100 free at 1:20 intervals.

Level 3

Swimmers in this level are training 5 days/week. The minimum age is 10. The goal for this level is to compete at Zones, Junior Olympics, and Silver Championships. Swimmers are required to swim 10*100 free at 1:30 intervals.

Level 2

Swimmers in this level are training 4 days/week. The minimum age is 8, i.e. swimmers in this level are 10 and over. The goal for this level is to compete at Junior Olympics, and Silver Championships. Swimmers are required swim 8*100 free at 1:45 intervals.

Level 1

Swimmers in this level are training 4 days/week. This level is for ages 10/under. The goal for this level is to be able to do all four competitive strokes legally (according to the USA Swimming Rulebook), including starts and turns.
